9 Things to Consider When Purchasing a Crawfish Burner

Navigating through the purchase of a crawfish burner can be a little confusing, but, with this brief guide you’ll have all the necessary information to purchase the best one available for your needs.

Crawfish Burner Materials

All of the burners we found from reputable manufacturers were made from steel.  Consequently, if you manage to find a crawfish burner not made out of steel then it may not be a bad idea to steer clear of it.

Hose Guards 

A number of burners come with the option of a “hose guard” for additional safety from any flames.


There isn’t really a metric for this available, but, obviously it could be a good thing to think about how sturdy the burner will be with a pot full of boiling water and hot meat covered with seasoning. 


Other Things Worth Considering

  • Several of the manufacturers for these burners went out their way to make it clear that crawfish burners are not designed to be additionally used as turkey fryers.
  • There are a handful of natural gas burners available; however, as of this writing none of them seemed to come from well-known sources unfortunately.
  • Based upon everything which was disclosed to us, the amount of time necessary to heat your water up to the boiling point with these sorts of units ranged from about 10 to 20 minutes on average.
  • Kits typically include burners as well.
